Be patient with me mommy...

I have been really struggling lately. Alot of babies were born around the same time as Tristan and I see how much more progressed they are and it makes me sad. They can smile and laugh and they have little personalities. I want Tristan to be like that. I want him to smile when I talk to him and laugh and pay attention to me. He is over 3 months old now and he is not doing anything. But then I have to remember that as far as his gestational age goes he is only 7 weeks old. Crazy to think about. He is still a newborn and I need to be patient with him. He is 9 pounds now and gets bigger everyday and I know that when he does get bigger I will be wishing for these days when he was a newborn and small and just layed there. So I will do my best to be patient with my little guy. He is doing the best he can and what is to be expected of him and I just need to enjoy this time. But I CAN NOT wait till he looks at me and smiles a big open mouthed smile! :)

My sweet Joslynn

Joslynn is so sweet. She is always complimenting everyone and thinking of others. The other day we were watching a movie and she disapeared and came back with a blanket and started wrapping me up. I said "How did you know mommy was cold?" She said "I saw your cold bumps."

They crack me up

Before I took this picture Abby said "wait mom, hows my hair?"

This is what happens when you ask Joslynn to smile for the camera.

Tristans arm is like a spring when he sleeps, it can't be comfy but you try and put it down and it pops right back up.

Good morning!

Every morning when I wake matter how long the night was I get a little reminder of how awesome it is to be a mom because I wake up to this......

Mommy it hurts

Tristan has not been sleeping the best lately and it has been very frustrating. I took him to the doctors and we found out that he has a double eye infection and a double ear infection and all of the sudden the nights of screaming made sense. I felt horrible for getting so frustrated with him. All that time he was probably hurting so bad and I had no clue. I am so glad that there is medicine for things like this and he is starting to feel better!

Getting so big!

Tristan had his 2 month appointment this weeek even though he is almost 3 months now. (we waited too long to schedule it) He is 8lbs 7oz and 21 inches long. For his prematurity he is in the 30 percentile for his weight and 50 percentile for his height. He is still not even close to being on the charts for regular babies. Things are going well. He has been having these spells where he stops breathing and he actually did it while we were at the doctors. She was a little concerned so she set us up with an apnea machine. It is a monitor that tells us when he stops breathing so we know when we need to stimulate him. It also tells us when his heart rate is too high or too low. It freaks me out when it goes off but at the same time it makes me feel better because now I know for sure when he needs help to remember to breath. Before it was like is he I need to do he breathing or is he not. I never really knew what was going on but now I know exactly when to step in. He is getting so big! He now fits in all of his newborn clothes and some of his 0-3 month sleepers. He doesn't smile much but every once in awhile we get one and the doctor said that is normal. He hates tummy time and usually freaks out when we try to give it to him. But he will lift his head and kick his legs. I can't believe he is almost 3 months old!

Memorial Day fun!

We had a great Memorial Day! Phil only had to work his morning shift so after he got off we took the girls to their favorite food places (Abby Arbys and Jos Mcdonalds) and then went to the park and had a picnic. (Yes I forgot my camera for this part of the day.) The girls loved it and thought it was the greatest thing to be able to eat at the park. After they played awhile we headed home for Jos to have a quick nap and then went and had dinner at Phils parents. We played some lacross and horse shoes and went for quite a few wagon rides. Below you will find a picture of Phils solution to the several requests for another wagon ride. Sorry the pictures are out of order it was being difficult. Anyway after Phil played a few basketball games with his Dad we headed to my parents for smores around the campfire. We we happy to see Mike and Amanda still there. They just moved from Logan and we are excited to get to see them more. After that we headed home and crashed! It was a long day and we were all exhausted but it was so much fun!!!!

Yes that is Phils grandpas Jazzy chair

Tristan and Braxton

The other day my friend Kristin came over with her ADORABLE little boy Braxton. It was so much fun to catch up and see the boys together. Braxton is only a couple weeks older than Tristan so seeing them together made me realise how far behind in developement Tristan really is. But according to the doctors it is completely normal. You are suppose to go by when you were due so technically Tristan is only 3 weeks old. I can't wait for him to start smiling all the time like Braxton did. What a cutie! I am so glad we got to get together!!!
