Tristan is such a happy boy. He loves to have his picture taken and even has a special smile for pictures. Here it is and it is so cute!

Friend party from dad

Randon had a friend party for Abby at Classic skating and was nice enough to let Phil, Tristan and I come. Abby has a few friends at school when she is at my house but given our neighborhood I just haven't met anyone I trust enough to let her play at their house. Hopefully we can buy a house in a nice neighborhood one day and she can have lots of friends to play with. Anyway I offered to do the gift bags and cake. She wanted another Barbie one and I was determined for this one to work better than her last. I followed all the directions. I spent all morning Saturday before the party decorating it carefully and it turned out great! I was so happy.

But...my happiness was short lived as we drove the half hour to the party. Slowly as I held the cake the back caved in little by little until it collapsed completely. I rode the rest of the way to the party holding it in my hands and crying. Phil said it was the first time he had seen a woman cry over a cake but I was devestated! I had spent all morning trying to make it perfect for Abby and here it was a crumbled mess of cake and frosting in my hands! Despite Phils prodding that the kids wouldn't care and that we could just put the back crumbled half against a wall I begged him to let us go buy a cake. I wanted so badly for her party to be perfect and being the wonderful man he is he could see how much it meant to me and off we went to find a store. We found a Harmons not too far away and though we were a little late to the party it all turned out ok. Here are some pictures of the party the kids had a blast and it was great seeing Abby with her friends
I took over 100 pictures!

Abbys Six!

Yesterday Abby turned 6! I can't believe she is 6. It was an emotional day for me for some reason. Thinking about 6 years ago when she came into my life very unexpected and changed it for the better. I have always said that Abby saved me from the road I was going down and I am so grateful for her. We had a party with my family on Sunday. She really wanted a Barbie cake and so I did my best but I am a very impatient person and didn't let t cool long enough before trying to take it out of the bowl and the while middle caved in. So 4 hours later I gave up and called it good. Luckily Abby is a sweetheart and said she loved it! On her actual birthday I cried alot maybe because it just brought back memories or maybe because I was really sick with an ear infection and had hardly gotten any sleep the 2 nights before but whatever reason I tried to suck it up and make it a fun day for her. First we went to breakfast at McDonalds then we took her to Target and she got to spend her birthday money and pick another present from us. Then we went home opened presents and she went to school. Before school was out I got to go and spotlight her and pass out her birthday treat. 2 days in a row of getting to go help out at school! She was really excited. After school Phils mom came up and watched Tristan while we went to see Gnomeo and Juliet. It was really cute. We ended the day with dinner at Wingers. It was such a fun day and we are so happy to have Abby in our family. She is such a good big sister and help to me. I love her so much! Happy Birthday Abs!

Valentines Day

We had a really fun Valentines Day this year. When the kids woke up there was a trail of hearts leading them to their Valentines from Phil and I with little pit stops on the way with little treats and other things. They had a blast following them and it was fun to see how excited they were. Then later I got to go to help at Abbys school for her party. At my station we played Valentine bingo. It was my first time being a room mom and I was really nervous but I loved seeing Abby at school. When her teacher introduced me as Abbys mom a little boy called out "Thats not Abbys mom thats her sister!" and I had to laugh.

Staying in

Winter days at our house are mostly spent inside. We only have one car so Phil takes it to work and we hang out here. When it's cold outside we stay inside and find different ways to entertain ourselves. The girls made a hut today and played in it all day.

And of course they wouldn't even dream about leaving their little brother out
